【摘要】:Whenanengineoiliscooled,therateanddurationofcoolingcanaffectitsyieldstressandviscosity.Inthislaboratorytest,usedengineoilisslowlycooledthroughatemperaturerangewherewaxcrystallizationisknowntooccur,followedbyrelativelyrapidcoolingtothefinaltesttemperature.AsinotherlowtemperaturerheologicaltestssuchasTestMethodsD3829,D4684,andD5133,apreheatingconditionisrequiredtoensurethatallresidualwaxesaresolubilizedintheoilpriortothecooldown(thatis,removethermalmemory).However,itisalsoknownthathighlysooteduseddieselengineoilscanexperienceasootagglomerizationphenomenonwhenheatedunderquiescentconditions.Thecurrentmethodusesaseparatepreheatandagitationsteptobreakupanysootagglomerizationthatmayhaveoccurredpriortocooldown.Theviscosityofhighlysooteddieselengineoilsasmeasuredinthistestmethodhavebeencorrelatedtopressurizationtimesinamotoredenginetest(1).CoolingProfiles:Foroilstobetestedat-20x00B0;Cand-25x00B0;C,TableX1.1applies.ThecoolingprofiledescribedinTableX1.1isbasedontheviscositypropertiesoftheASTMPumpabilityReferenceOils(PRO).Thisseriesofoilsincludesoilswithnormallow-temperatureflowpropertiesandoilsthathavebeenassociatedwithlow-temperaturepumpabilityproblems(2-7).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheyieldstressandviscosityofengineoilsaftercoolingatcontrolledratesoveraperiodof43or45htoafinaltesttemperatureof-20or-25x00B0;C.Theviscositymeasurementsaremadeatashearstressof525Paoverashearrateof0.4to15s-1.Thistestmethodissuitableformeasurementofviscositiesrangingfrom4000mPax00B7;sto>400000mPax00B7;s,andissuitableforyieldstressmeasurementsof7Pato>350Pa.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableforuseddieseloils.Theapplicabilityandprecisiontootherusedorunusedengineoilsortopetroleumproductsotherthanengineoilshasnotbeendetermined.1.3Thistestmethodusesthemillipascalsecond(mPax00B7;s)astheunitofviscosity.Forinformation,theequivalentcentipoiseunitisshowninparentheses.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
