【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtoevaluatethevirus-eliminatingactivityofhygienichandwashandhandrubagentsfromexperimentally-contaminatedhands.Suchformulationsmaybefurtherassessedinaclinicaltrialfortheireffectivenessinthefield.Thistestmethodincorporateswhole-handexposureandreflectsactualuseconditionssuchasfrictionduringhanddecontamination,andalsoenablesalternateproductformssuchasalcohol-ornon-alcohol-basedliquids,gels,andfoamstobetestedaccordingtolabeldirections.Itismeanttoextend,ifrequired,theresultsoftestingwithTestMethodE1838,whichgivesprecisereductionsinvirusinfectivityonalimitedareaofthehands.ItmayalsoserveasanalternativetestmethodwhenproductformisnotamenabletotestingbyTestMethodE1838.Thistestmethodisnotmeantforusewithsurgicalhandscrubsorpreoperativeskinpreparations.Note28212;Applicationofvirusesontheentiresurfaceofbothhandsentailsagreaterrisktothesubjectsthanusingfingerpadsonly.Therefore,greatercareisneededtoensurethatthehandsoftheparticipantsarefreefromanyapparentdamage.Also,viruspreparationsmustbethoroughlyscreenedfor,ordocumentedtobefreefrom,extraneousoradventitiouspathogensbeforeuseinsuchtests.1.1Thistestmethodisdesignedtoevaluatehandwashorhandrubagentsfortheirabilitytoreduceviralcontaminationfromhands.Note18212;Aknowledgeofvirologicaltechniquesisrequiredforthistestmethod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operationsandequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Theusershouldconsultareferenceforlaboratorysafetyrecommendations.(3-5)
