【摘要】:Thevolumetricflowrateisameasureoftheflowcharacteristicsofametalpowder.Measuringflowbyvolumeascomparedwithflowperunitmasseliminatesthevariableofthepowderdensity.Theabilityofapowdertoflowandpackisafunctionofinterparticlefriction.Asthesurfaceareaincreases,theamountoffrictioninapowdermassalsoincreases.Consequently,thefrictionbetweenparticlesincreases,givinglessefficientflowandpacking.Knowledgeofthevolumetricflowpermitsthenumberofpartsthatcanbemadeperhourtobeestimated.Thistestmethodmaybepartofthepurchaseagreementbetweenpowdermanufacturersandpowdermetallurgy(P/M)partproducers,oritcanbeaninternalqualitycontroltestbyeithertheproducerortheenduser.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureformeasuringtheflowcharacteristicsofagivenvolumeofpowder.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard(exceptfortheHallFlowmeterFunnel,whichisproducedininch-poundunits).Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
